Reggae artiste Nature Ellis is gearing up for his performance at Reggae Jam next weekend. The artiste, who is currently on the island, will be leaving shortly for Germany for what many dub as one of the biggest reggae festivals in the world.

Speaking with THE WEEKEND STAR in a recent interview, the entertainer said that he has been focused mainly on the international market these days, and noted that his performance at Reggae Jam will show just how much he has grown as an artiste and why his work has been making such an impact overseas.

“When you don’t hear from Nature Ellis in Jamaica it’s not because I’m not working, I’ve just been making a lot more moves internationally. As reggae artistes, we have to aim to be big outside of Jamaica as well, and that’s what I have been doing — growing my fan base in other countries,” he said.

“I have been putting in the work, and I am seeing where it is paying off. Reggae Jam is a big show and to be on it is a big deal for any artiste.”

The artiste said that this will be his third time on the show and he has also been given a prime time spot on the show’s line-up, which is indicative of his growth as an artiste.

“I have performed on this show before, and I have grown each year. The spot that I’m getting this year is a good spot; it’s not early, it’s a primetime spot, so it shows my maturity and my growth. It shows that the promoters have faith in me and that they recognise the work I have put in over the years,” he said.

He said that patrons should expect a high-energy set from him as he puts on a special show.

“Nature is known to be among the top performers on any reggae show. Expect high energy, strong content, and just music people can feel good about,” he said. “It’s my first time back in Germany in eight years, and I return on their 25th anniversary, so I have to put in a good show, and I plan to.”

Nature Ellis is slated to perform on August 4 alongside reggae acts such as Capleton, Cocoa Tea and Romain Virgo.
