NO PRESSURE

-

Last Friday saw history being created in Montego Bay when for the first time in the 25-year staging of Reggae Sumfest, three Montegonian artistes shared top billing on Dancehall Night. Among the aggregate was Rush Sheikh recording artiste Teejay, who gave a good account of himself in the wee hours of Saturday as the large gathering showed their appreciation for the segment featuring the trio dubbed ‘The MoBay Tribute’. Teejay, who hails from the volatile enclave of Glendevon, says he didn’t feel pressured to deliver despite the high level of expectation from the fans. “It was great. The fans came out, and I did my thing. I never felt pressured because MoBay is my hometown. However, I must applaud the organisers for a wellorchestrated, incidentfree event because with all that is happening in Montego Bay, keeping the peace is paramount.” Coming on the heels of Reggae Sumfest, Teejay is already upping the ante as he makes final preparations for departure to the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago this weekend, where he is slated to headline the highly publicised Great Fete Weekend alongside dancehall artiste Aidonia and Grammy Award-winning US rapper T.I.

Great Fete Weekend is a series of annual parties hosted at Pigeon Point Beach Resort and other popular locations on the Island of Tobago. The event boasts an impressive array of disc jocks and artistes spanning various genres across the Caribbean and North America.
