MBU wary of humbled Lion

- ROBERT BAILEY STAR Writer

Vassell Reynolds, head coach of Montego Bay United (MBU), said they will not be taking anything for granted when they tackle the winless Humble Lion in their Red Stripe Premier League encounter at WesPow Park tomorrow.

MBU will be aiming for their third win of the season, having defeated Harbour View 2-1 in their last game at the Harbour View Stadium last Sunday.

Humble Lion, however, are coming off a 1-1 draw against Waterhouse and have failed to secure in a win in four games this season.

Reynolds told STAR Sports that they will be seeking all three points and therefore they will not be taking their opponents for granted in tomorrow’s encounter.

“We are expecting another big performance because I am hoping that we can get another positive result,” said Reynolds.

“We are not fooled by the lack of form shown by the Humble Lion team now, because we realise that in the last two games they would have improved. One has to remember that they are a perennial semi-finalist, so we are expecting a tough one,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds added that his team has progressed well since their opening game defeat, 2-0 to Tivoli Gardens, on September 16.

We are hoping that we can perform well enough so that we can get a good result in the game,” Reynolds said.

“The team has been moving from strength to strength, but we still have a lot of work to do because there are some key areas that we need to improve on going forward,” he said. “However, it is still considered early days, but what we are satisfied with is that the team is improving steadily.” MBU will be without captain Dino Williams, who is out with a groin injury.
