Bone Crusher was a real yute Entertainm­ent fraternity remembers dancer

The local dancing fraternity was plunged into mourning following the passing of popular dancehall personalit­y and street dancer, ‘Bone Crusher’. THE STAR understand­s that the dancer, who had been ill for sometime, reportedly died on Sunday at the Kingston Public Hospital. Since news of his death broke, many entertaine­rs have been paying their respect to their colleague via social media. Dancers and artistes alike have been flooding Instagram with posts about the late dancer. Ding Dong, Popcaan, I-Octane, Foota Hype, Energy Bermuda, and Shelly Belly were among those who reacted. They described the dancer as someone who loved dancing and defied all odds on his journey to becoming a dancer. In addition to commenting on his immense talent, the deceased’s colleagues also spoke about his personalit­y, pointing out that he had a genuine love for people and a kind dispositio­n that made it easy for people to love him back.

Speaking with THE STAR about the late dancer, Kool Kid, a close friend, said Bone Crusher was one of the most dependable dancers in the business.

“Any shoot or anything yuh call him up for, him deh deh. He was a real yute, genuine and had respect for everybody,” he said. “I just want to say condolence­s to his family because if me feel it suh, me can’t imagine how dem feel. The whole Get There Squad really feel it because he was a real friend, a brother. Crusher always a encourage people, him never show nobody nuh bad vibes anyweh him go.”

Dancer-turned-artiste Tall Up shared similar sentiments. She said Crusher told her that her song Rockin Dolly would be a hit and encouraged her to put everything she had behind the promotions.

She also described the late dancer as a high-spirited person. “He was a great individual and a very humble dancer. Him always deal wid me good inna the streets and from weh me see, he’s loved by the dancehall fraternity,” she said. “Him always motivate me and big me up on the work me a put out inna the streets, so me affi pay me dues to Crusher. He was a great person and he will be highly missed.”

It is still unclear what caused the dancer’s death. There are rumours going around that he died of diabetes, while others say he had a heart condition.
