Men arrested for $2.2 million worth of drugs
Ateam of officers assigned to the Narcotics Police Division arrested and charged two men for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act last Friday.
They are 47-year-old Nigel Barham, businessman of Nain district, St Elizabeth, and 52-year-old Dennis Daley, farmer of Myersville district, also in St Elizabeth. They were charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine, and conspiracy to export cocaine.
Reports are that about 2 p.m., on November 6 both men were arrested at the Sangster International Airport after they were caught attempting to export cocaine. The drug weighed approximately 4 pounds, with an estimated street value of $2.2 million.
The police were summoned, and the injured man was taken to hospital, where he was admitted.
One Taurus 9mm pistol and a round of ammunition were seized during the incident. and the scene processed.
