Male found dead at en­ter­tainer’s home

Ares­i­dence on Sun­set Close in Cherry Gar­dens, said to be owned by an en­ter­tainer, was the scene of a mur­der on Wed­nes­day morn­ing.

Dead is 38-year-old Ju­nior Thomp­son of Prospect dis­trict in St Thomas. Thomas was known by the alias ‘Shagel’.

In­for­ma­tion reach­ing THE WEEK­END STAR is that armed men en­tered the res­i­dence, hop­ing to com­mit a rob­bery, when they stum­bled upon Thomp­son.

The po­lice’s Cor­po­rate Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Unit (CCU) con­firmed that a stab­bing did take place at the Cherry Gar­dens res­i­dence, but could not con­firm if the house be­longed to the en­ter­tainer. They also did not con­firm whether Thomp­son was killed dur­ing an at­tempted rob­bery, point­ing out that in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to the CCU, at about 8:30 a.m. on Wed­nes­day, work­men found Thomp­son’s body ly­ing in a pool of blood in a room on the prop­erty. The scene was pro­cessed, and the body was later taken to the morgue.
