Coppershot ready for the grand Xplosion

-

Coppershot’s DJ Supa Stylz says the sound system will be sizzling hot when it plays at Romeich Entertainment’s Magnum Xplosion on December 14.

Slated for Melbourne Cricket Oval in Kingston on December 14, Magnum Xplosion will not only see live performances from Ding Dong, Aidonia, Spice, Govana, Teejay, Agent Sasco, and others, but will be punctuated by mixes from Jamaica’s finest selectors, including Bishop Escobar, DJ Antsman and Boom Boom.

“You don’t get to become one of dancehall’s most popular sound systems by being afraid of a big line-up. That is something that actually motivates us. You don’t build the kind of reputation we have by shying away from things. We know dancehall, and we are prepared for whatever mood the audience comes with. We’re entertainers, and Jamaica knows this,” said Supa Stylz.

BIG EVENT

Tipped to be one of the largest events this season, Magnum Xplosion is overflowing with heavy hitters, a feat DJ Supa Stylz says it owes to a good reputation.

“Magnum Tonic Wine is very popular in dancehall, and patrons associate the name with a good time. As a selector or artiste, when you hear that Magnum is a part of the show or event, it’s almost a dream come true because you expect a certain level of quality and good vibes,” he said.

Magnum Xplosion is among several bookings for the ninemember sound system.

“We’ve been in the business for 24 years; it will take a lot more than multiple bookings to overwhelm Coppershot sound. The Christmas season brings work; people search for entertainment, and promoters step up to fill the gap, so sound systems step up as well. As for us, we bring our A-game to every single event, it doesn’t even matter what team members are there,” said Stylz.
