Neako Fire yearns for dancehall’s good old days

-

Many people will argue that the ‘90s was the best era in dancehall and selector/recording artiste Neako Fire is one of them.

With his new song Rub A

Dub, featuring Runkie Hytz, he aims to bring back the days when music was more focused on having a good time, with a male and a female dancing closely together.

“As a selector, I see where the music has been taken to a whole other level, where men over one side dancing and the women on the other side. Women using block to beat their private parts, popping off wigs, and men jumping off building on to a woman is borderline abuse,” he said.

The upbeat track was released earlier this year and so far

Neako Fire has been getting a terrific feedback, especially in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean.

There are plans to ramp up the promotion in places like the US, Europe and Africa.

“The song has taken off since its release; I am not too surprised though because it is a fun, engaging type of song that from you hear it, you just want to buss a wine on the dance floor with your dance partner,” he said.

Plans are already under way for an accompanying music video to be shot in January, to assist with the promotion of the track.

Neako Fire, who has been doing music for more than a decade, expressed that what makes this effort so great is that offers an intriguing listening experience and a feel-good dancehall vibe that fans will fall in love with.
