Last Disciple chants down ‘Babylon’

AHaving lost someone close to him at the hands of the police, he was compelled to turn the pain into music and decided to write a song about it.

“The lyrics are about the wrongs that are happening in the world. It talks about the police brutality that is happening in the streets,” he said.

The visual is meant to promote current events, depicting issues that are affecting the world today.

The singer is in Jamaica for a week to film the music video for another one of his tracks,

The shoot will take place in the Blue Mountains. The song, which was recorded at Mixing Lab, was recorded using live music.

Last Disciple’s previous releases include

featuring reggae artiste Aza Lineage, and

The latter, which was released last February, is accompanie­d by a compelling music video that features scenes across Jamaica, supported by Rastafaria­n symbols.

The recording artiste was attracted to the reggae culture and was inspired to pursue music. His stage name was inspired by lessons with one of his teachers.

“I had a teacher, an old Chinese man that I trained with, and I was his ‘last disciple’,” he explained.

Last Disciple is not only a singer. He is also a master of tai chi/qi gong. As a result, he will be hosting classes during his time in Jamaica in an effort to spread more awareness of the art.
