A couple of months later, when the song fell on DeeWunn’s lap through his network, he quickly sketched a verse.

“The heavy-hitting, dancehall-infused beat just connects,” said DeeWunn. “With an early 2000s feel combined with dope lyrics by Lexx, I just had to get on this track and bring it back to my fans in Europe, who appreciate and love authentic dancehall.”

Mr Lexx said, “I’m just excited to expand my fan base to a larger market, and I think this song with DeeWunn is a definite a club banger. Wiiiickkee­eed.”

Aiming to hit Latin America and French Caribbean markets, Gold Up Music joined forces with the premier digital distributi­on platform, ONErpm, for the release.

Based in Montreal, Gold Up Music was founded by Raphael Vivet. The label made its debut in June 2018 with the release of the single featuring Jamaica’s internatio­nal sensation, Shenseea.

The pop-infused, dancehall record instantane­ously started to get heavy rotation in clubs across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.

The single also garnered media attention from Germany’s prestige reggae platform, Reggaville, and Canada’s Montreal Dancehall.

In September 2018, Vivet teamed up with composer Zack Ariyah. The duo quickly found their groove and started releasing more heavy-hitting tracks such as Iba Mahr’s and Echo Dan’s

With a crate full of new singles prepared for release, the team anticipate­s a strong third and fourth quarter for 2019.
