Intence says he does not endorse scamming

After making the trek to the roof of The Gleaner Company (Media) Ltd office yesterday, Intence pulled out a

toothbrush to clean his black desert Clarks, not that it needed anymore cleaning.

The single and accompanying music video make no apologies about the deejay’s circle engaging in scamming and murderous activities.

But Intence insists he is not involved in either, and does not glorify scamming.

“Me don’t involve in those things. Notice me seh me have couple a mi friends, if me did involve me woulda seh me,” he said. “Everybody have couple friends right now, if yuh hav friend weh bad, yuh have friend weh a gyallis, yuh have friend weh a mek money, yuh have friend weh a baller, and the list goes on. So everybody have couple friends and dats why people a gravitate to it so much right now.”

Released three weeks ago, the video is nearing 700,000 views on YouTube, where it trended after its premiere.

Though he defends his non-involvement in criminal activities, there is no going around the song’s intro, which Intence started singing:

“People always a seh how mi seh mi a nuh scammer and mi seh dat,” the Boysie Records artiste said. “My client a some female mi have abroad weh know my badness and know seh dem man haffi hot, so a deh so my client dem come down.”

With this current momentum, the Papine native hopes to prove naysayers wrong, and tap into the mainstream market with a growing catalogue including

“Mi ever tell people seh me a go prove all a who did doubt me wrong. Me mek mi money talk for me so time will tell,” he said. “Mi nuh want it just stop right here like a just Jamaica we a do music for, we a do music internationally.”

Intence forms part of the Jetlife music clique which also includes I-Waata. Both are slated to perform at Beenie Man’s Summer Sizzle tomorrow in Clarendon.
