Popcaan to treat kids in Morant Bay tomorrow

Dancehall artiste Popcaan is looking to put some smiles on the faces of hundreds of children in his home parish of St Thomas at his annual Off-to-School Treat and Fun

Day tomorrow.

The event, organised by the deejay’s Popcaan Care Foundation, will take place at the Rudolf Elder Park in Morant Bay.

The first 500 children will be treated to a bag of school supplies.

“This event is very important to me. It’s a time I get to give to my people. The youth are the future, and we affi play our part in helping dem to be the best,” Popcaan said.

“St Thomas a my place, and me know the struggles a lot of parents face this time of the year, so anything we can do, we ago dweet,” he added.

Aside from the distributi­on of school supplies, the deejay’s foundation, in partnershi­p with Wisynco, will provide refreshmen­ts for the children. Nestlé, which is also a sponsor of the event, is expected to carry out wellness checks for the parents as part of its national programme. LASCO and Bashco are also sponsors of the event.

The treat is expected to run between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
