Tyler Perry pays $14K hospital bill for man stuck in Mexico
French Montana hospitalised for cardiac issues
Tyler Perry has agreed to pay the US$14,000 medical bill and travel costs of a couple stranded in Mexico.
The 50-year-old star stepped in after reading about the plight of Stephen Johnson, who fell ill with pancreatitis and diabetes, while onboard a Carnival Dream cruise ship with fiancé Tori Austin.
The holidaymaker was urged to seek treatment and spent three days in intensive care at a hospital in Progreso, Mexico, but when he was on the mend, he and his partner were presented with a huge bill which they were unable to pay as they had neither health nor travel insurance.

Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Uploading a video of him in his hospital bed, he captioned it: “Six days in icu (sic)”
French was rushed to hospital with cardiac issues last Thursday when he started suffering from “stomach pains, nausea and an elevated heart rate”.
LA County Sheriff’s deputies had actually been called to the house at 1:30 p.m. over reports of a suspected robbery – which turned out to be a false alarm – but they were so concerned by French’s condition that they summoned an ambulance to take him to hospital. He was quickly transported there, work out a payment plan once they were back home in the US but the request was denied and they were barred from leaving the hospital.
The woman also claimed staff where he was treated with IV fluids.
Meanwhile, his ex Khloe Kardashian is “worried” about French.

The Kardashians star is reportedly concerned for her ex-boyfriend, with a source adding: “Khloe has been in touch with French. She heard the news and was concerned about him. She is still worried about him and hoping he gets some good news and they figure out what’s going on.”
It is no surprise that Khloe has been checking on him as the rapper previously insisted he had a “dope relationship” with his ex Khloe and they’ve remained friends because they didn’t end on bad terms. locked windows to stop them escaping and threatened to call police if they tried to leave.
She said: “It’s been a nightmare. We just want to come home. [It’s] hell. I very much so am a hostage.”
According to KTRK-TV, Perry heard about their struggles on Good Morning America and reached out to help.
Austin wrote on Facebook on Sunday: “Today I am thankful for and will always be thankful for Tyler Perry. My mom was also a huge fan of his.”
According to NBC News, as of Saturday the hospital had not received the money but noted international transfers can take several days to come through.
It is currently unclear when the couple will return home but Austin said on Facebook they had been told they would be allowed to leave the hospital soon.
