Two-year deal for Parris in Slovenia

Following a one-year loan stint and a season in which he was the league’s topscorer and MVP, Cavalier’s Kaheem Parris has secured a permanent twoyear deal from Slovenian second division club, NK Krka.

Parris moved to Slovenian first division team NK Domzale in 2019 but struggled for game time and went on loan to Krka. His time at the second division club proved to be most fruitful, as he topped the scoring chart with 16 goals in 19 games.

Cavalier Sporting director, Rudolph Speid, believes the 21-year-old is now fully familiar with the demands of European football and believes the onus is now on him to push forward and grow and develop his career.

“He has got a full transfer to Krka. They bought him from Cavalier after his trial period of one year in the Slovenian League. He was the star of the league, and so far it looks like he has stamped his authority in Europe and it looks like he is there to stay. So we wish him all the best,” Speid told STAR Sports. Speid said the player’s performance over the season and the reputation he has established for himself means bigger clubs will be keeping an eye on him, and watching his progress.

“I am sure other clubs are looking at him, to move him up. He is a seasoned European player now,” he commented.

He added that despite having a frustrating time with NK Domzale, he was always confident the former Dinthill Technical star had the talent to make a career in Europe.

“Everybody wants to reach Europe and he was always a talent we knew would make it. He is just 21 although he has been playing for so long. He found his feet and did very well last season. Now it’s for him to push on. In the next two years if he works very hard maybe he can get into one of the big leagues,” he added.

Parris represented Jamaica at the under-17 and under-20 levels, and has played four times for the senior team. He made his debut for Cavalier as a 17-year-old and scored in his first three games for the club.
