-

Ayele Russell, a Jamaican who fled the island after allegedly murdering his girlfriend in Negril in 2017, is now in the custody of Jamaican law enforcement officials.

Russell was deported from the United States of America, where he was serving time for armed robbery, on July 29. Two days later, he was arrested and charged by the Westmoreland police for the murder of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Nadian Dyer, of Pee Wee Lane in the parish. The police said that the crime was committed between April 23 and June 2, 2017.

Reports from the Negril police are that relatives reported Dyer and her four-year-old daughter missing on June 5, 2017. An investigation commenced and the police proceeded to the house of Dyer where her decomposed body was found with multiple stab wounds.

Her body was found buried beneath the floor of his bedroom in the West End section of the resort town.

The police said that Russell travelled to the USA on April 23, 2017, where he was arrested for a crime he committed there.

A recent social-media post made on an account belonging to Russell foretold his imminent release from prison.

“LOL!!! Mi a come a mi yard, destiny, stupid ... The God a forward, Ready or not, Here I come, silly. LOL. G, otherwise. Life goes on when the devil smile,” the post read.

In a ‘meet an inmate’ advert, Russell said that he intends to get into real estate business on his return to Jamaica.

“I am a love having fun kind of person, always full of joy and happiness, even in the worst kind of situations. To me that always puts the light in any situation, staying calm, kool and collected. I love to ride motorcycles, swimming, and cooking. I love cooking lobster tail, curry goat, Ox-tail and steaks, those are my favorite dishes,” his ad read.
