MARRIED PASTOR BREAKS WOMAN’S HEART

APortland-based pastor who left his wife in Jamaica and jetted off to Cancún, Mexico, where he proposed to another woman, has defended his decision to accept hundreds of thousands of dollars from her, despite knowing he had no interest in her.

The pastor, who is 40 years old, has incurred the wrath of his ‘fiancé’ — also a minister of religion — who said she has spent the equivalent of $2 million on him, only to be dumped.

The woman, who has a PhD, said that she paid US$2,000 (approximately J$310,000) for the engagement ring that she gave the Jamaican pastor so that he could propose to her. She also claimed to have spent well in the region of US$10,000 (approximately J$1.5 million) on airfare to Mexico and accommodation for the pastor to travel to the romantic destination three months ago.

While the Jamaican popped the question in Cancún and gave her the ring that she paid for, there were no fireworks. The 57-year-old American woman was shocked to find ‘her man’ pleasuring himself in the bathroom.

The pastor has not denied the masturbation claims. In fact, he said that his suitor has used the situation to cast aspersions about his sexuality.

“She even told one person that she think I was a b*tt*man because she catch a play with myself in the shower, but mi don’t know how mi become a b*tt*man because she never catch mi with a next man. What she wanted was sex and I could never do that and I told her,” the pastor said.

The pastors began their relationship in January, but it was built on a lie. The hurt female said that she was smitten by the Portland-based man, who she said told her that he was divorced. The truth, however, is that he has been divorced once, but has re-married. The female minister has also walked down the aisle before. She is twice divorced.

I SENT HIM J$53,000

She said when they began talking, the pastor told her he was separated and was in the process of getting a divorce.

“I sent him J$53,000 to help with the divorce and then I found out that he wasn’t divorced. About six weeks ago, I asked someone who used to work at the courthouse to check out if he was really divorced, and there was nothing on record,” the woman said.

“I thought he would be the one because he was a minister and I thought he had the qualities I was looking for since he was a man of God, but it turns out that he is a scammer,” she fumed.

However, the Portland man is adamant that he did not trick the woman into falling for him.

“Let me say this, we are Jamaicans and if we are getting help we are going to take it,” he said while defending his decision to accept the loads of cash that was repeatedly sent to him by his ‘lover’. He said that he was merely playing along and he had no intentions of getting into anything serious with her. Seeking to explain his decision to ask her to be his wife while in Cancún, the pastor said that he was caught off guard.

“It was when we went to Mexico that she told me that she buy ring and everything. I wasn’t in a relationship with this woman. She is 57 years old and I am just 40. What would I be doing with an old woman?” he questioned.

He also stated that he was not innocent in the happenings and has since sought forgiveness from the Almighty.

“I have accepted that I did some wrong. I didn’t take any money from her, the woman give mi. My church members know that I am married. I never proposed to her because I wasn’t the one who buy the ring or anything. I was just going with the flow. I never had a sexual relationship with her either,” he said.

The woman said that she sent at least US$12,000 (approximately $1.8 million) to the pastor as gift. She now wants back every penny, but the Jamaican pastor said he is not prepared to give her a dime.

“I never scammed anything from her. At one point when she went to MoneyGram, they asked her if she think she was being scammed and she said no. She sent me even her credit card and I never used it,” he said.
