Kabaka Pyramid on Good Vibes summer tour

Reggae singer Kabaka Pyramid, who is now on the Good Vibes summer tour in the United States, is ecstatic to be performing once again in front of a live audience.

The Kontraband singer and his Bebble Rockers Band resumed their ‘trod’ last Saturday, in Jacksonville, Oregon, after pulling off the road for two weeks to quarantine.

“Nah tell no lie, being on stage makes everything worth it. The last two weeks have been very challenging for myself and the team, but we couldn’t let COVID stop the mission in front of us. I have to say that things could have been a lot worse for us, so we are grateful to be healthy and doing what we love again,” the reggae revival artiste shared with his followers on social media last Tuesday.

Noting that “COVID is real”, the singer told THE WEEKEND STAR that he definitely had practical advice for artistes who are planning to start touring now that the rest of the world is re-opening after more than a year of lockdown.

“Buy the self-rapid tests and use them regularly, especially if anyone experiences symptoms. Be prepared to cover the expenses if you have to quarantine — at least 10 days,” Kabaka said.

He emphasised that touring artistes need to be extra vigilant and “keep to themselves as much as they can”, because testing is not required for vaccinated persons who attend the shows, even though studies show that they can catch COVID-19 and also pass it on to others.

“Do whatever you can do to protect yourself and others around you,” was Kabaka’s advice.

In keeping with the guidance from many health professionals about the necessity of building up the immune system, the reggae singer suggested that artistes continue the vitamin and supplements regimen that they have been practising for decades when pushing out on the road – but this time, with a little extra.

“I would recommend that they take zinc, vitamin C and D supplements regularly, with ginger shots as much as possible. But still take every precaution,” he urged.

The Good Vibes Summer Tour 2021, headlined by California reggae band Rebelution, features Kabaka Pyramid, Keznamdi and DJ Mackie. It kicked off on August 5 in Fresno, California.
