COVID boosting paranormal thoughts

-

The coronavirus pandemic has sparked interest in ghosts and the afterlife.

Psychology experts have said that Britain is becoming more obsessed with the paranormal due to the amount of death experience during the global health crisis.

The theory is backed up by the popularity of TV series such as Netflix’s Haunted and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Professor Chris French, from Goldsmiths, University of London, said: “When loved ones die, people think about death and dying a lot more. So then, there is more interest in reincarnation and paranormal, as they appear to provide evidence [that] death’s not the end.” Danny Robbins, the writer of The Battersea

Poltergeist, added: “It’s the biggest question possible, does something happen to us after we die?

“And I think it is directly linked to the chaotic, uncertain times we find ourselves in and also, sadly, the deathfilled times with COVID.”
