King Addies wins 10 straight Premier League Soundclash
The clash world is on fire again after King Addies’ putdown of USA’s World Clash contender Stereo 5 in Premier League Soundclash, which took place in New York City on April 23.
Roughly 1,500 patrons witnessed as Stereo 5, which is set to participate in ‘World Clash The End’ on May 1, was unanimously ‘slaughtered’ in the four-round clash.
Stereo 5 won the first round of the clash. However, King Addies rebounded and won three consecutive rounds, and in the process effected a brutal lock off of Stereo 5.
Premier League 2022 is King Addies 14th lock off victory in the last 11 years, and also adds to their unmatched 10 clashwinning streak.
Last Saturday’s clash was the first Premier League event to occur since the end of COVID-19 event restrictions. King Addies entered the ring as the defending champion of the league from both their 2018 double lock off win over Japan’s Yard Beat and Italy’s Northern Lights, as well as their 2019 win over New York’s One A Day.
KingPin, of King Addies, described Saturday’s win as pleasurable.
“The clash was important because the 2017 King Addies versus Stereo 5 [ contest] ended in controversy, and no one went home with the trophy. Since then, Stereo 5 was talking so much trash, and so I finally got the chance to ‘murder’ him,” KingPin said.
Stereo 5 now moves on to this weekend’s staging of World Clash The End with bruised egos. King Addies, however, will not be competing.
World Clash The End, which takes place in Birmingham,
England, will see sound system giants who popularised the World Clash brand being honoured in ceremonial style. Those set to be honoured are Bass Odyssey, Panther, Tony Matterhorn, Ricky Trooper, Mighty Crown and David Rodigan.
