Ricco Ras upbeat about ‘Bad Man Bad’

Emerging dancehall deejay Ricco Ras is generating a big buzz with his latest single, titled Bad Man Bad.

“Anytime anybody see me in the streets, dem shout out ‘bad man bad’; is like a new slang in the streets. The video already got thousands of views and the youths from the ghetto ah work with it,” Ricco Ras said. The single was released on March 25 on the Gold Plaque Entertainm­ent label.

Ricco Ras has been building his reputation one stage show at a time. His recent performanc­es include the after- Champs event, Up to the Line. His debut single Tek Go Off was produced by CJ The Chemist for the 1Matik rhythm on the Chemist Records/Raheef Music Group labels.

A former road manager and entertainm­ent insider, Ricco Ras is relishing his new role as a dancehall artiste. The artiste, whose given name is Rick Foster, grew up in the community of Duppy Gully in Stony Hill, St Andrew, and later moved to the district of Rocky Valley. He attended St Andrew Technical High School where he excelled at metalwork.

After leaving high school, he got involved in the music business, doing street promotions before acting as a road manager.
