Woman trying to find brother she’s never met
Sandra Johnson is looking to fulfil her late mother’s wish to find her son, Kenneth Newton Anderson, but her task has always been difficult as she has never met him and doesn’t know what he looks like.
Johnson said that Anderson, 57, was born in Kingston in May 1965. She said that their mother, Merle Miller, sent Anderson to live with his father, Andy Anderson, shortly after he was born, as she was unable to take care of him at the time.
“I am not sure why my mother lost contact with them. I am assuming that they had moved away and that was the reason she couldn’t get in contact. My mother moved to live in Canada in the 1970s, and we were all trying to find my brother, but we keep coming up with dead ends. I don’t know if he is dead or alive and I have never seen a photograph of him,” she said.
Johnson stressed that their mother had tried tirelessly for years to find Anderson, as she wanted him to know that she did not abandon him.
“My mother returned to Jamaica multiple times after she left and she went back to Kingston where she had left him with his dad, but she couldn’t find him or get any information about him. It was her last wish to find her son. She had also gave my sister to her father, but when life got better she went back for her and got her, but she just could not find my brother,” Johnson said.
She said that for years she has searched social media and tried other channels to find Anderson, but has had no luck.
“I am hoping that someone may see this article and can help us find him or tell us if he is dead or alive. He may be overseas. I really don’t know and I don’t know if I have any nieces or nephews from his side. I really want a piece of closure. Our mother passed away from COVID19 last year, and he doesn’t even know that,” Johnson said.
“We are even trying to do DNA tracing to find him. I am asking anyone who may know to just let us know. I really need closure. We may not know him in-person but we love him.”
