Drovy wants more exposure for young artistes

-

Up- and- coming dancehall artiste Drovy is calling on the gatekeepers in the Jamaican music industry to create more avenues of exposure for young artistes.

“Getting a break in the music business in Jamaica is one of the hardest things to do, because the gatekeepers are not willing to give young artistes a chance. There are so many talented youths all over the island, but most of them will never get a break unless the system is changed. I’m begging the gatekeepers to take a different approach and allow more young artistes to shine,” said Drovy.

The talented singjay, who lists Beres Hammond, Koffee, Tarrus Riley, Popcaan, Dexta Daps and Masicka among his musical influences, is currently promoting his new single, titled

Ready.

“I am getting good feedback about my new song. Everywhere I go, people are telling me they love it. I believe it has the potential to be a hit,” he said.

Drovy is currently working on several new projects.

“As a new artiste I can’t afford to get complacent, so I’m always putting in the work. Right now,

I have several new songs in the can that I plan to drop this summer,” he said.

Drovy, given name Navorro Pinnock, hails from the community of Newton in St Elizabeth. He’s a graduate of Lacovia High School.

He launched his recording career in 2019 with the release of a single titled

After The Crown.
