NChann Soriano salutes her roots on new EP

-

Recording artiste NChann Soriano shares a piece of her identity with the world, through her debut EP titled JAMERICANA. Produced under her own NChannz World Music label, the project was officially released on April 8.

Born in St Elizabeth but raised in New York, the singer showcases her background through songs that she wrote and recorded in her home studio. “The name of the EP is just my way to pay homage to Jamaicans who grew up in American culture. Moreover, the sound is hip hop meets R&B meets dancehall, at least that was the thought process after we were done recording. But before all that, I had a vision and that’s how it started,” the singer explained. “I wanted something solid to show people that I am far from a onehit wonder or some breakout Internet sensation. I plan on being around for as long as the good Lord allows.”

While she has been pursuing a career in music on and off since the age of 14, NChann Soriano has been independently honing her craft for the past seven years. As an executive producer, she has also branched out into producing for other talented acts, such as up-and-coming artiste Bad Spurr. In addition to working with her youngest son on a song that they co-wrote, the artiste has several new projects in the pipeline.

“I recently partnered with a production house based in Belgium called Dutty Records, owned by DJ Baby Bang who is a wicked producer. Through him, both Bad Spurr and myself are gearing up to release a bunch of new singles, the first of which was released on April 15 titled Blessed by Bang and featuring myself. This month, we’re releasing chunes on his riddim called the ‘ Bulldozer Riddim’ which will also feature artistes like Delly Ranx and more,” she revealed.
