50 years of eating Big Macs
Aman has celebrated 50 years of eating McDonald’s Big Macs nearly every day. Donald Gorske, who had his first burger on May 17, 1972, reached the record-breaking landmark on Tuesday.
Gorske, from the US state of Wisconsin, says there have only been eight days in the past half-a-century where he hasn’t tucked into the McDonald’s burger.
He set a Guinness World Record in 1999 for the most Big Macs eaten in a lifetime with 15,490, before breaking it last year with a new benchmark of 32,340.
Gorske told Spectrum News Milwaukee:
“I’ve only missed eight days in the past 50 years, which is phenomenal. And like I say, I count every Big Mac. I’ve counted every Big Mac I’ve eaten in my whole life.”
Gorske often eats two Big Macs a day and says he never tires of the fastfood snack.
He explained: “A lot of times people say: ‘You look like you’re eating a Big Mac for the first time’, and I guess that’s how I feel sometimes. They’re that good to me, and there’s really nothing else I’d rather eat.”
