Sizzla and Chyna Nicole collaborate on ‘Boom Love’

New York-based reggae singer Chyna Nicole says she learnt a lot musically from Sizzla when they worked on the song ‘Boom Love’.

“I truly enjoyed the process of creating the song. I enjoyed watching him (Sizzla) write and watching him pick up these hightech instruments and play. He is a true musician in every sense of the word. The song embodies his composition and our lyrics. The studio vibes were lit with his team loving the song, which gave a wonderful sense that the song is a promising one,” Chyna Nicole shared.

She added, “You can call me a student of Sizzla. I have learnt so much already. I have learned to listen to my own genius. He taught me that; to believe more in my own gifts. Watching him and his team, including Ras Calm, reinforced the importance of a strong team. I’ve learned to listen to the spirit of music, not to rush it, and let it flow.”

Chyna Nicole also shared the inspiration behind Boom Love.

“Imagine the feeling when a sound system is tuned up and playing your favourite love song. Imagine being deeply synced with your spirituality. Imagine eating your favourite ice cream. Imagine going to see your favourite artiste perform. All of these feelings and emotions are deep and loud. That is how I would describe Boom Love,” she said. It’s a love that is banging loudly in the speakers with its sweet melody and clever instrumental phrase; and it can be something that you are deeply connected to. It makes you feel so good.”

The award-winning singer also disclosed that Sizzla played a vital role in the song’s musical composition.

“We had started this project 10 years ago. God says to leave it to time. It was the perfect time, and it was even better than what we had started or could have envisioned. Sizzla played drums,

bass, keyboards, and guitar. He composed and arranged most of the composition. He’s brilliant,” said Chyna Nicole.

The artiste said that since the song’s release recently, she has been encouraged by the feedback and responses.

“I have grown my fan base and I have also received nods from radio DJs and fans saying that reggae needed this kind of duet. It’s original down to the strum of the guitar to the top of our vocals. This entire process has been a blessing from our Creator,” she reasoned.
