Dear Air Astana flyer,
In the last edition of tengri we talked at length about the forthcoming Astana EXPO 2017. The talking is over and the event in full swing after a spectacular opening ceremony in early June. Please do not miss the chance to visit as there are some sublime exhibitions, and a great line-up of local and international performers at the various onsite concert venues. Remember that if you are flying to or through Astana on an international flight with us, your entry to the exhibition is free. You can obtain entrance confirmation through our website once you have your flight booking reference.
I am delighted to be able to inform you that for the sixth year running, Air Astana has been voted Best Airline Central Asia and India at the Skytrax World Airline Awards. In addition we picked up the award for Best Staff
Service for the same region for the fifth consecutive year. The ceremony was held at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget at the end of June. Skytrax represents the global standard for airline customer service and I would, as usual, like to thank you, our customers, for your loyalty and my colleagues for their dedication.
At the annual general meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held this year in Cancun, Mexico, IATA’S Director General and CEO Alexandre de Juniac exhorted governments and politicians not to heed the siren call of protectionism by rolling back the frontiers of globalisation, nor to cut infrastructure investments in an industry which brings benefits to so many. I am pleased to say that our government needs no such encouragement: EXPO 2017, increasingly simple entry requirements and a brandnew international terminal at Astana Airport all bear witness to the fact that Kazakhstan is open for business, and open to the world.
I wish you a pleasant flight with Air Astana today.
Yours truly,
Peter Foster
