Can Goktas, hotel general manager

It is almost impossible to choose a favourite city and then describe it in 100 words. But, as Napoleon said, “If the Earth were a single state, Istanbul would be its capital.” Superbly situated on either side of the Bosphorus Strait, the city has lively bazaars, dramatic mosques, opulent palaces, museums, art galleries and world-class restaurants. The old quarter has narrow, cobbled streets lined with quaint old wooden houses. To the south, the blue waters of the Sea of Marmara glitter invitingly. To the north are the bright and welcoming lights of the entertainment district of Beyoğlu. Almaty is my second favourite. The green setting and cleanliness sets an example to other cities, as does the warmth of its people. Come to Almaty and walk through the city to get a feel of its culture and the imprint of history.
