Tutte le strande partono da Roma, or ‘All roads lead to Rome’. Rome is interesting not only from an historical point of view, but also from an aesthetic and gastronomic one.
Strolls around the millennial Coliseum ruins, where once gladiatorial games took place, is a perfect way to introduce children to the ancient history of the world. A trip to Rome fascinated my son as it took him back to the history of jurisprudence.
A photograph at the Trevi fountain and meeting at the Spanish steps are good starts for romantic strolls, though my suggestion would be that you just plunge into the ancient city, absorb the atmosphere and enjoy a delicious meal. Italian cuisine is one of my favourites, and here you have the most delicious pizza, pasta and cannoli. Do you remember “Leave the gun, take the cannoli!” from The Godfather?
