Taking care of the future of the country
40 Kazakhstani schoolchildren, finalists in the republican competition for the transport industry, went to Cranfield University aerospace school for a week of practical training. For the second year in a row Air Astana was the carrier for this event. A visit to this school helped the participants to choose their professions and improve their English. During a one-week tour the children flew in the Jetstream ‘flying classroom’, operated the flight simulators, were given theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of aviation and introduced to the principles of flight and instrument-making for aviation. They also experienced free falling in the wind tunnel and took part in different sporting activities. Secondary school students aged 16 to 18 years old participated in the second competition to win a place on this course, with regional selection rounds taking place in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent.
