NNPC plans to revitalise refineries in January 2020
THE NIGERIAN National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has revealed plans to revamp all three of its refineries.
Work is scheduled to begin in January 2020 on the sites at Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna, the state-owned assets widely acknowledged as being in need of upliftment.
NNPC has vowed to have the refineries operating at full tilt by 2022, a challenging period meaning it has been performing at well under the 445,000 barrel-per-day capacity. Instead, Nigeria has been almost entirely reliant on imported fuel.
It is thought that the revamp project will be funded via government and private sources.
