-

FLYING DOCTORS Healthcare Investment Company is in process of setting up a $1 billion fund, which it will then invest in healthcare and wellness across Africa.

“We are raising in three tranches within four years. The first $200 million by the end of first quarter next year, and then $300 million and $500 million,” said Ola Brown, Managing Partner and Co-Founder, said in an interview.

Brown founded Flying Doctors – initially an air ambulance service – 10 years ago, and later set up the investment company to fund healthcare firms. It now has a portfolio estimated at $200 million, with companies including LifeStore Pharmacy and Helium.
