Zambia’s rural farmers embrace AI
AGRIPREDICT IS an AI-backed mobile application that offers instant information regarding plant diseases and weather patterns. Now, over 22,000 farmers in Zambia are using the app, making use of information that previously would have only been available from agricultural experts and meteorologists. This has allowed the farmers to cut costs and run their farms more efficiently. The app also offers a platform to sell their produce.
Before AgriPredict, farmers would have had to consult an agricultural expert in the event of a crop failure to offer direct advice. In certain rural areas, this in-person assistance is not always readily available. Now, technology will fill the void.
