Sacco is an Italian, family-owned company that offers a large range of innovative products. This includes starter cultures for food fermentation (in particular dairy) and nutritional supplements (probiotic cultures), as well as instruments for the improvement of food. The sister company Caglificio Clerici has been an Italian leader in rennet production since 1872 and in 2006 acquired the Swedish company Kemikalia. Sacco System has partnered with the innovative research, food culture, and dairy/bakery ingredient company, Synercore, in South Africa to expand the distribution of Sacco food cultures in Lyofast (freeze dried) format in South and neighbouring Southern African countries. This partnership allows for industry leading technical service and support to the dairy, bakery, beverage and related food industries, combined with an innovative ingredients portfolio, food technology laboratories, and a new pilot plant facility to be offered as part of a comprehensive customer service and distribution package to provide solutions to food based customer challenges and new projects within the region.
