It is also the largest manufacturer of parenteral products (IV fluids, ear, eye and nose drops) in East Africa, exported to 10 countries. The Group employs 1,200 people across East Africa and aims to be Africa’s trusted leader in providing health and wellness products and solutions. The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm invested in Abacus in 2018.
