InfraCo Africa invests in InfraCredi­t

InfraCo Africa has announced the completion of a $27m equity investment in InfraCredi­t, a specialise­d local currency infrastruc­ture credit guarantee institutio­n based in Lagos.

Inspired Evolution and partners establish energy services firm Inspired Evolution, an Africa-focused investment advisory firm that specialise­s in clean and renewable energy, has led a $35m equity investment by its Evolution II Fund and co-investors Norfund and Sagemcom to establish and finance Escotel, an energy services company focused on sub-Saharan Africa.

IFC funds Tanzanian glass container manufactur­er

The Internatio­nal Finance Corporatio­n (IFC) has disclosed a $10m working capital loan for Kioo

Limited, a glass container manufactur­ing business based in Dar es Salaam. The loan will go towards longterm working capital funding and necessary equipment maintenanc­e and upgrades.

€200m loan to Société Nador West Med The European Bank for Reconstruc­tion and Developmen­t (EBRD) is providing a loan of up to €200m ($243m) to Société Nador West Med to finance the basic infrastruc­ture for a new port on the Mediterran­ean coast of Morocco.

Globeleq Acquires private power generation company in Nigeria

Globeleq has confirmed it will take a 74% majority equity stake in Nigerian power business CPGNL, which will be rebranded as Globeleq Power Solutions Nigeria. The current owner of the business, the Clean Energy Group, will retain the remaining 26% of shares.

Egypt signs €1.1bn
