KPA re­tain men’s ti­tle

Kenya Ports Au­thor­ity men's bas­ket­ball team swept Ulinzi War­riors 3-0 in their Play-offs fi­nals with a 75-59 Game Three vic­tory to win the bas­ket­ball men's Pre­mier League ti­tle for the third year in a row at the KPA hall, Makande yes­ter­day.

In Nairobi, El­doret-based El­donets were yes­ter­day crowned the new 2018 Kenya Bas­ket­ball Fed­er­a­tion men's Divi­sion One League cham­pi­ons af­ter they beat Emyba 73-64 in Game Three of the best-three se­ries play-offs fi­nal.

El­donets were aided by hard­work­ing John Biur, who scored 16 points, while Thomas Kioko replied with a game-high 22 points for Emyba.

El­donets coach Mau­rice Ouma said: “We beat an ex­pe­ri­enced team with play­ers who had fea­tured in the Pre­mier League be­fore with top clubs.”

In the women's pre­mier League semi-fi­nal, Eq­uity Bank qual­i­fied for the play-offs fi­nal af­ter they knocked out Strath­more Univer­sity Swords 3-0.

They rocked Strath­more 61-32 af­ter lead­ing 23-17 at the break in Game Three and will now meet de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons KPA, who saw off Storms 75-57 in Mom­basa, in the fi­nal.
