Nyong’o airlifted to city hospital
Kisumu Governor, Prof Anyang' Nyong'o was yesterday flown to Nairobi for specialised treatment after being diagnosed with low blood pressure.
Governor Nyong'o was driven in an ambulance to the Kisumu International Airport and flown to Nairobi by the AMREF Flying Doctors Services.
Aga Khan Hospital medical superintendent, Dr Sam Oula, said the governor was taken to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
“The governor has been flown to Nairobi for conclusive tests and for further observations. (He was) in the hospital overnight in stable condition” Dr Oula told
Prof Nyong'o fell ill during a function to install new Catholic Archbishop Philip Anyolo Archbishop who took over from Zacchaeus Okoth during a function held at Uzima University ground in Kisumu on Saturday.
He was rushed from the event to Kisumu's Aga Khan Hospital after reportedly passing out. A communiqué dispatched by his press secretary Aloice Ager stated that, during the Saturday event in Kisumu, “the Governor unfortunately encountered some discomfort and excused himself to see a doctor.”
