Crew, pas­sen­gers killed as plane bound for Nairobi crashes in the Aber­dares

KENYA: Eight pas­sen­gers and two pilots were killed when a sched­uled do­mes­tic flight to Nairobi crashed into a moun­tain late on Tues­day.

The Cessna Car­a­van plane, op­er­ated by lo­cal firm Flysax, went miss­ing on Tues­day af­ter leav­ing Ki­tale at around 4pm and lost con­tact with the Jomo Keny­atta In­ter­na­tional Air­port con­trol tower at around 5.20pm be­fore its wreck­age was lo­cated in the south­west of the Aber­dare ranges two days later.

Trans­port Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary Paul Maringa said a search team that lo­cated the air­craft Thurs­day morn­ing found no sur­vivors and a probe into the cause of the ac­ci­dent has com­menced.
