Botswana, eswatini ban SA meat
Botswana and the Kingdom of eswatini have suspended meat imports from South Africa.
The suspension is due to the the outbreak of the highly contagious foot and mouth disease, which was detected in a northern district of Limpopo province.
eswatini, which is heavily reliant on South Africa for food, and Botswana — a large beef exporter to the EU — join Namibia which had suspended imports. Zimbabwe is reported to be in the process of banning affected meat and livestock imports from South Africa.
