Drama unfolded in Kitengela town, Kajiado county, on Saturday when officers from the Ethics and AntiCorruption Commission caught a county askari red-handed receiving a bribe.

Enock Muthomi, attached to the Kajiado East subcounty administrator’s office, was nabbed at his Kitengela office as he received Sh15,000 from a driver he had arrested earlier on Saturday on allegations the suspect was ferrying ‘illegal’ goods.

The driver reported the matter to his boss and requested to be given the Sh15,000 demanded by the askari so the items could be released. The boss informed the EACC, whose officers accompanied the driver. On seeing the driver, the askari was elated after he was informed the money was ready.

The two walked to the store where the goods had been locked. The EACC officers followed them and grabbed the askari, before he could pocket the money. The askari requested to be allowed to go and relieve himself, but as the EACC officers attempted to un-cuff him, he started urinating in his trousers.
