Samburu picks athletes during Camel Derby
The Samburu government has taken advantage of the 28th International Camel Derby to pick talented youths who will represent the county in national and international athletics competitions.
The derby started on Thursday and ended yesterday.
Samburu County Director of Sports Mathew Lesiyampe yesterday said the county has a shortage of talented youths who can participate in athletics competitions.
He said the government is sponsoring six athletes from the county in Iten in preparations for the inter-county athletics competition.
Lesiyampe said an athletics training ground has been set up in Loosuk, Samburu Central subcounty.
