Stop attacking the Supreme Court and prepare for poll, Rongo MP tells Uhuru
Rongo MP Paul Abuor has told President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee Party to stop attacking the Supreme Court for nullifying his reelection on Friday.
Abuor said when the August 8 election results were announced, Uhuru and his team were quick to advise NASA candidate Raila Odinga to respect the outcome and seek redress in the Supreme Court..
A new presidential vote was ordered within 60 days. Abuor said the attack on judges shows Jubilee was shaky.
“Jubilee leaders should relax and avoid attacking Chief Justice Maraga and judges if they have the votes they claim to have,” Abuor said.
He said the decision showed that IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and his team did not carry out free, fair and verifiable polls, adding that the new poll will be an acid test for them.
