Women protest over MPS Ngeno and Sudi remarks
Women in Central have since Tuesday been protesting over the remarks made by MPS Johana Ngeno of Emurua Dikirr and Kapseret’s Oscar Sudi.
Led by Kiambu deputy governor Joyce Ngugi, the women said they were angered by the utterances targeting President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family.
The women alleged that the remarks were inciting. In Kiambu county, the protests were witnessed in Wangige, Kiambu town, Ruiru, Juja and Gatundu town.
Women marched round Kiambu town, demanding that the two MPS apologise to Uhuru and former First Lady Mama Ngina.
Ngugi said involving Mama Ngina was disrespecting all women in the country.
“It shows the two leaders have no regards for women,” she said.
Kiambu nominated MCA Nduta Muongi urged leaders not to drag names of parents or spouses of leaders into political talk.
