Lcc jin air to be­gin op­er­at­ing Boe­ing 777 in de­cem­ber

Jin Air, the na­tion’s sec­ond-largest low cost car­rier (LCC) said yes­ter­day it will op­er­ate a 355-seat Boe­ing 777-200ER from next month, be­com­ing first lo­cal LCC to op­er­ate a large air­craft.

The bud­get car­rier un­der Korean Air Lines, the na­tion’s big­gest flag car­rier, said its B77-200ER air­craft will first be em­ployed on its In­cheon-Guam route start­ing Dec. 12. The air car­rier cur­rently op­er­ates a 183-seat B737-800 on the same route, which flies ev­ery day at 8:55 a.m. Jin Air said that with the adop­tion of the new air­craft, it will add flights that fly at night.

Jin Air said that the in­tro­duc­tion of the new air­craft will al­low the company to take a 60 per­cent mar­ket share on the In­cheon-Guam route among Korean air­lines.
