Galleria collaborates with Cartier on decorations
Hanwha Galleria has collaborated with French luxury goods maker Cartier in decorating the exterior of its Apgujeong store in Seoul.
Under the design concept of the sound of Christmas, it applied Cartier’s characteristic red ribbon symbol on the top of Hanwha Galleria department store’s east wing in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul, to look like a giant gift box. Dozens of box-shaped lights are also illuminating the building to spread Christmas cheer.
It also piled up red and white gift boxes in front of the east wing of the building under the Christmas tree sculpture wrapping it in the Milky Way with the Christmas lights.
Hanwha Galleria has introduced new Christmas decorations for its exterior every year to become one of the must-see places in Seoul.
Starting with the Teddy Bear’s log house in 2006, it has since showcased various decorative concepts — the Teddy Bear’s igloo in 2007, the Princess and Taylor in 2008, the Little Elf in 2009, the Merry-Go-Round in 2010, Christmas in Paris in 2011, the large Snow Globe in 2012, the Jewel Tree in 2013, the Key Tree in 2014, the Flame Tree in 2015 and the collaboration decorations with Bulgari in 2016.
“Many people are expected to visit Hanwha Galleria during the Christmas season to see its decorative sculptures,” a Hanwha Galleria official said.
Along with the sculptures for the Christmas season, Hanwha Galleria has operated the Christmas Gift Garden, a pop-up store where customers can find new overseas fashions and beauty brands.
It also showcases a new jewelry and leather collection under the collaboration with Italian luxury brand Pinetti.
Hanwha Galleria said it plans to carry out corporate social responsibility programs to help underprivileged neighbors in society. It has conducted donation programs for children with incurable diseases jointly with the Make-A-Wish Foundation Korea Chapter since 2012.
