475th Tur­tle Marathon to be held Satur­day

The 475th Tur­tle Marathon, co-hosted by the Hankook Ilbo, the sis­ter news­pa­per of The Korea Times, and the Min­istry of Pa­tri­ots and Vet­er­ans Af­fairs will be held this Satur­day.

The event will be spon­sored by KB Fi­nan­cial Group. The walkathon hon­or­ing war vet­er­ans as June 6 marked Me­mo­rial Day will be led by Pa­tri­ots and Vet­er­ans Af­fairs Min­is­ter Pi Woo-jin.

The six-kilo­me­ter walk will be­gin at 8:30 a.m. at Baek­beom Square near Mount Nam in Seoul.

Diverse events and ac­tiv­i­ties will take place af­ter the walkathon, in­clud­ing cal­lig­ra­phy, curl­ing and a stamp tour vis­it­ing me­mo­rial sites on Mount Nam.

Free re­fresh­ments and coffee will be pro­vided for par­tic­i­pants af­ter the walkathon.

Cer­ti­fi­ca­tions of three-hour vol­un­teer­ing will be is­sued for el­e­men­tary, mid­dle and high school stu­dents who vol­un­teer for the walkathon.
