Golfzon enjoying soaring popularity in Vietnam
Golfzon has been enjoying increasing popularity in Vietnam with its indoor screen golf business.
The country’s leading golf simulator provider said Tuesday that it has opened seven screen golf venues in Vietnam since it entered the Southeast Asian country in 2018.
Golfzon said it was able to achieve such popularity thanks to its localization efforts, adding it aims to build five more golf simulator venues in the near future.
“Each venue is equipped with our cutting-edge golf simulators and quality food and beverage facilities. We have also held various golf events and offered specialized membership services to customers,” the company said.
“We are very glad that we could make a notable achievement in Vietnam only one year after we launched our business there,” a company official said. “To be able to satisfy more customers, we are trying to offer more localized services. As Golfzon has contributed to the popularization of golf in Korea, we will strive to develop Vietnam’s golf industry.”
Established in 2000, Golfzon has endeavored to make the sport enjoyable and accessible to more people. The company launched its first indoor golf simulator venue in Vietnam in June 2018.
Given Vietnam is a “young” country with people aged under 35 accounting for about 60 percent of the entire population, Golfzon expects there will be huge business opportunities in the future.
“People born between 1980 and 1990 account for about 35 percent of the population in Vietnam. Accordingly, we expect our screen golf simulator business will have continuing momentum among those aged between 20 and 40 who are familiar with information technology,” the company said.
According to data from the Vietnam Professional Golf Association, the number of people enjoying golf in the country was about 10,000 in 2009 but grew to 70,000 in 2018.
