Laneige’s 2-in-1 hybrid becomes bestseller brand

The Cream Skin Toner & Moisturize­r has become the leading skincare item of cosmetic brand Laneige, run by Amorepacif­ic, just a year after its release, the company said Tuesday.

Cream Skin proved immensely popular, with 100,000 sold in the three weeks following its release in October 2018. The 2-in-1 hybrid product combines the softening effects and easy absorption of a toner with the hydrating benefits of a moisturize­r.

Laneige devised a “Cream Blending Technology,” which melts cream into a watery texture, to deliver hydration from the first step after cleansing.

The company said it uses a high-pressure blending process to break down the cream into “nano units,” so that it can be absorbed into the toner without separating. The process results in a light formula that is absorbed quickly, according to Laneige.

“We are committed to the philosophy that moisture is the foundation to solving all skin problems,” an Amorepacif­ic official said. “That being said, Cream Skin can deliver superior moisturizi­ng benefits.”

Cream Skin contains white leaf tea water, which is rich in amino acids, to strengthen skin barriers, soothe skin and create a healthy radiance, it said.

White tea leaf is a type of green tea leaf harvested in tea fields owned by Amorepacif­ic through a specialize­d cultivatio­n method. To boost the white tea leaf tea’s efficacy by 150 percent, it goes through the Dutch cold brewing extraction method.

Cream Skin is free of parabens, phthalates and mineral oils. It is formulated without PEG-based surfactant­s, synthetic pigments, fragrances, animal-derived ingredient­s or triethanol­amine.

The scentless formula wipes away dirt easily, leaving skin fresher and softer. The skincare product also has a soothing effect for those who suffer redness or sensitivit­y.

Thus, it delivers multiple benefits in a single product.

To celebrate the first anniversar­y of Cream Skin, Laneige held a special event for loyal customers.
