Audi Korea aims high with 8th-generation A6
Audi Korea is stepping up efforts to clinch a dominant share of the mid-sized premium sedan market with its fully changed A6 model.
Audi A6 is powered by an in-line 2.0L 4-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine, yielding a maximum output of 252 horsepower 37.7 kilogram-meter torque. The new A6’s full-time all-wheel-drive system Quattro offers stable driving performance.
It accelerates from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.3 seconds, and has a combined fuel economy of 11.4 kilometers per liter.
The new A6, equipped with S line exterior package as standard, offers exterior design improvements which include a panoramic sunroof, matrix LED headlights and LED taillights to bring out its sportiness.
The various features aboard the A6 include connected-car tech, climate control, drive select, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting and parking assist.
The latest Audi A6’s cockpit area has been upgraded as well. The carmaker has an attached dual-touch screen navigation by applying a “virtual cockpit plus” system that is operated through the steering wheel.
The new model also offers various safety and convenience features, such as adaptive cruise assist, pre-sense 360 degrees and intersection assist. The “Audi connect” system allows drivers to use the myAudi app to remotely control certain features, check the vehicle status, find their car or to make emergency calls.
Its premium version offers a “premium air package,” which detects the level of pollutants in vehicles and control air quality accordingly.
“Audi Korea will deliver premium brand value to more customers by launching the new Audi A6 with a competitive product configuration and price in the most fierce premium midsize sedan segment in Korea,” Audi Korea Executive Director Jeffrey Mannering said during the new A6’s launch event. “With the launch of the new A6, we expect to see significant sales growth later this year.”
The new A6 is available in two versions of standard and premium. The standard version is 66.8 million won ($57,233) and the premium version is 70.7 million won.
