Volkswagen’s Arteon flagship sedan is enjoying steady popularity among owners in their 30s and 40s. The new Arteon has a sporty fastback design that provides great flexibility — not only for commuting, but also as a family sedan with a high fuel efficiency, a spacious interior, plenty of trunk space and a comfortable driving experience.

The German carmaker is giving discounts of up to 6 million won ($4,725) for customers in Korea purchasing the new Arteon this month, as well as offering travel and golf package promotions, which are originally given to those who spend more than 48 million won.

The new Arteon highlights the beauty of the fastback design and is efficiently spacious. The build is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, which allows the sedan to boast a 2,840-millimeter-long wheelbase, a 4,865-millimeter full-length body, 1,870-millimeter full width and 1,440-millimeter height — thanks to its engine that is placed in the front of the car, horizontally.

Its 575-liter trunk has enough room to accommodate up to four golf bags, which shows why it is suitable as a family car.

Reflecting the preferences of local customers considering a premium sedan, the new Arteon also offers various options such as a headup display, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree area view, front-seat ventilation and heating, among plenty other features.

What customers care the most about is a vehicle’s fuel efficiency.

The new Arteon is equipped with an EA288evo 2.0 TDI engine, which is Volkswagen’s exclusive patent and its latest diesel engine that provides high fuel efficiency and strong performance at the same time.

Compared to the older version, the new Arteon emits 80 percent less nitrogen oxide too. The EA288evo 2.0 TDI engine not only provides a maximum output of 200 horsepower and a full torque of 40.8 kilogram-meters, but also offers a high combined fuel efficiency of 15.5 kilometers per liter in daily driving.
